The multitude of forms and patterns found in the natural world are the primary source of inspiration for my ceramic work. I study these forms to see how they influence our man-made world, and are mirrored in everyday objects. This is an unending pursuit that continually opens up new avenues to explore.

My organic forms are slab and coil built using prepared crank material. I manipulate, observe and distort the clay from the inside and outside. I enjoy pushing the clay to its limits, giving accidents the right of way as the forms grow and evolve. The whole process of construction and observation through to glazing takes a number of weeks.
